Install Android Nougat on Samsung Galaxy S6 (Lineage OS)

Though Samsung announced that Official Android Nougat will be available for Samsung Galaxy S6 series but you may have to wait till second half of 2017. If you are one of those guys who can’t wait to have latest version of android on your smartphones and you don’t have a pixel or nexus then you have to flash custom ROMs to achieve the sweetness of latest and greatest android version but those guides can be complicated for the normal user so today I am showing you a step by step guide on how to Install Android Nougat on Samsung Galaxy S6.

This Android Nougat Rom for Samsung Galaxy S6 is LineageOS previously known as the CynogenMod.

WARNING: THIS ROM CONTAINS MAJOR BUGS SO IT’S NOT ADVISED TO INSTALL IT ON YOUR PRIMARY DEVICE. I’LL UPDATE THIS POST AS THE BUGS GETS RESOLVED SO BOOKMARK THIS PAGE FOR FURTHER UPDATES.

  • Unlocked Bootloader  (Guide to Unlock Bootloader of Samsung Galaxy S6 Here)
  • Custom Recovery      (Guide to Install Custom Recovery Samsung Galaxy S6 Here)
  • Samsung Galaxy S6

Installation Guide

 

  • Put the ROM that you downloaded on above step in the internal storage of your phone.
  • Boot into TWRP Recovery.
  • Perform Full Wipe
  • Go to Wipe  -> Advanced Wipe -> Check everything except “INTERNAL STORAGE”.
  • Swipe to Wipe.
  • Flash the Rom.
    • Go To “Install”.
    • Select the Rom Zip File.
    • Swipe to Install.
    • Select the Gapps Zip File.
    • Swipe to Install.
  •  Reboot. (This reboot can take some time.)
